More Sterling Silver Mayors Medals

We are a bit over halfway done selling the Sterling Silver Mayors Medals that are made by the Franklin Mint.

There are a few more on that will ending this weekend.

With the holiday weekend coming up after this one, I am undecided as to whether I will be listing any until after it.

It is traditionally a big selling time, but not necessarily for gold and silver bullion items.

Of course, we will still have lot of our other items listed for that busy time too.

I will play it by ear for the silver medals and see what is happening in the days beforehand.

It just may turn out to be a good selling time for any and everything!

Sterling Silver Medals with Gold

We have been adding more of the Mayors Medals by the Franklin Mint to our Ebay auctions.

They are one ounce of solid sterling silver with a coating of 24K gold.

They are beautifully designed with the largest cities in the US according to the 1970's records.

We do combine shipping for these coins.

The melt price of silver is a bit over $35 an ounce as of this post.

These medals are a great investment at this time - silver was almost $50 an ounce just a few months ago.

It is expected to go back up - so grab the deals now!

Sterling Silver Mayors Medals

We have started listing a new collection of sterling silver on ebay.

This set was minted by the Franklin Mint in 1971 and it titled:

Official Mayors Medals of the United States Conference of Mayors.

There are 50 medals in this set that are made of solid sterling silver and electroplated with 24K gold.

Each one of these medals represents a city in the US that was one of the largest according to the 1970 census.

Keep your eyes open for your favorite city - it just may have made the top 50 for this collection!

Calendar Medals Listed

We have listed the two sets of calendar medals that I talked about in my last post.

They are listed on ebay for seven days and each has a very reasonable reserve.

You can find the listing for the silver set here.

The listing for the bronze set is here.

Both of these sets are very rare, and to have two complete ones is even more rare.

Please email me with any questions, and good luck bidders!.

Calendar Zodiac Silver Medal

We have a most unique piece going up for auction next week.

It is a solid sterling silver round that is made by the Whittnauer Mint.

This large medal features the year 1973 in calendar form - six months on one side and the other six on the other side.

It also has each Zodiac sign for each month.

It is part of a set that includes 6 smaller sterling silver medals with "Winter" being the theme for them.

And as if this set wasn't special enough, we also have an identical one in bronze.

Two very rare sets that would make a great gift for an astrology collector as well as those who collect silver.

1975 Franklin Mint Bicentennial Medal

We have a beautiful piece of sterling silver up on auction this week.

It is a piece that was made by the Franklin Mint in 1975.

It is titled: Bicentennial Medal, and it features the faces of 30 Great Americans on the front of it.

The back has the beginning sentence of the Constitution of the United States.

This is a hefty piece of solid sterling silver - weighing 2000 grains, or 4.12 troy ounces.

Gilroy Roberts created this stunning piece, and the faces appear beautifully frosted against the mirrored background.

You can check out the listing, here.

It's a beauty and good luck to the bidders!

Franklin Mint Medals of the American Revolution

We just listed a beautiful set of Franklin Mint medals on Ebay this evening.

This set was minted in 1976 and there are 50 rounds that depict scenes from the American Revolution.

The title of the set is: The Medallic History of the American Revolution.

Each round is 32 mm and is made of solid Sterling Silver.

There are over 21 ounces of silver in this set.

Housed in a wood display case, this limited edition set is very rare - I haven't been able to locate another one like it.

The auction listing is here, and it will run for seven days.

There is a low reserve - pretty much at melt value as of this post.

Don't miss it - they are hard to come by and silver is a great investment!

Sterling Silver Indians

We are listing several more of the sterling silver American Indians this weekend.

They are beautiful collectibles that have been selling quite well these past couple of weeks.

Next week we will adding the really famous ones such as Sitting Bull and Pontiac.

Geronimo is my husband's favorite.

He was one tough man that went through much in his life.

I may save that one as a gift for him, I haven't decided yet.

Don't miss what we have online - this rare collection is almost gone.

Good luck!

More Indians Next Week

Next weekend is a holiday in the US.

Labor day marks the end of the summer for us and the beginning of the school year for the kids.

Many families are making the most of this last long weekend of summer and are enjoying get-aways and visitors.

And the computer is the last thing on their minds for the most part.

Over the years I have found that online sales are really slow during these holiday weekends.

So we will not be posting any more of the sterling silver American Indian coins until next week so they end after the holiday.

We have a little over half of the set left.

Stay tuned!

American Indian Leaders Medallions

We have begun to list on Ebay a most interesting, quite rare collection of silver rounds.

The collection is called: American Indian Leaders Medallions.

It was minted by the Osborne Mint in 1979-1980.

There are 48 rounds that are made of Sterling Silver.

They are one ounce each.

They feature many of the famous Indian leaders from tribes across the US.

Only 5000 of these sets were produced.

We are listing them separately over the next few days, so if anyone is interested in the whole lot, they need to let me know so I can end the listings already on Ebay.

I would rather have kept them all together, but sadly they are valued more separately.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask - just leave a comment or go through the contact us link on the store website.

Silver Medals

The spot price for gold and silver has risen sharply over the last few months.

Last year at this time, the spot price for silver was $18 per ounce, two years ago it was $12.

As of Friday's close, the spot price for silver was $43 an ounce.

We acquired a partial set of the Masterpieces of Raphael that was minted by the Franklin Mint back in the late 1970's and early 1980's.

We only have two of these gold plated over silver metals left from this collection.

You can find them listed here.

By clicking on their photos in the store, you can find all the details for each one.
