Busy Week

It has been a very busy week over here at KML's Corner.

We had many of our auctions end successfully and we processed them quickly.

UPS has been our main shipping company for many years, but we also use USPS quite a bit for the lighter items.

Recently we have been shipping more item through USPS priority mail.

They introduced some new boxes for localized shipping and we have found them to be quite useful.

Many of the purchases made last week were shipped by USPS priority mail.

UPS ground is always reliable, but customers want to make sure their purchases arrive in time for Christmas.

We will continue to ship the quickest way this coming week.

We will do our best to make sure you have your purchases on time.

Thanks for the busy week, and I hope you all enjoy this beautiful season!

Lots of Auctions Ending

I took advantage of the big sale ebay was having on the listing fees last week, and today is the first day of all those auctions ending.

We also have much more ending tomorrow night, and more on Tuesday night too.

It is the last new load of new inventory that we have listed for the Christmas season.

We will be listing more items, of course, but not the new inventory until after the new year.

We want to concentrate on getting everything packed and shipped so you all can receive it in time for the holidays.

Check out our ebay store to see if we have what you are looking for.

Have fun!

Three Day Listing Sale

Ebay is giving us a good deal this week.

From today, 12/6, through Thursday, 12/8,  we can list our auctions for free.

And buy-it-now can be added for free too.

They usually give us a one day notice for a one day sale.

But three days makes it a bit easier.

Plus, more can get listed.

The only drawback - the auctions are for 1,3, or 5 days only.

No seven day auctions that we do.

But, free is free, which is a good thing.

So don't forget to check out our listings, perhaps there is something there for someone on your list.

Enjoy!

Lots of Good Stuff

Just a quick post to remind everyone to head over to our ebay store.

We have lots of auctions that will be ending tomorrow night.

Clothes, shoes, collectibles, housewares, silver.

All make great gifts for the upcoming season.

And all are priced to sell.

Don't miss out!

Thanks!

Another Sale

Another auction listing sale on ebay means it is time to hurry again.

Hurry to get things ready.

Hurry to get them listed.

And hurry to get them online.

'Cause it is only for a day.

We took the bait and did the hurrying.

Over 60 new listings are going up tonight in our store.

Some things that didn't sell will get relisted - at a lower price.

We are trying to move our inventory, and our customers will get the good deals.

Even if it means our items sell below cost.

We did list a few more of the sterling silver coins.

As always, good luck with the auctions, and enjoy!

More Sterling Silver Mayors Medals

We are a bit over halfway done selling the Sterling Silver Mayors Medals that are made by the Franklin Mint.

There are a few more on that will ending this weekend.

With the holiday weekend coming up after this one, I am undecided as to whether I will be listing any until after it.

It is traditionally a big selling time, but not necessarily for gold and silver bullion items.

Of course, we will still have lot of our other items listed for that busy time too.

I will play it by ear for the silver medals and see what is happening in the days beforehand.

It just may turn out to be a good selling time for any and everything!

Lots of Deals

Another listing sale on ebay means lots of things got listed by many sellers.

We took advantage of the sale and also listed lots.

And most of our items were started at $9.99 auctions.

That is a whole bunch of good deals that we have available on ebay.

Check out our listings in our ebay store.

Maybe there will be something there that is just what you have been looking for.

And if not, then stay tuned, we have lots more that will be going on in the next couple of weeks.

Enjoy!

Thank You My Customers!

And I have my great customers to thank for that.

I am glad that we have what they are looking for - and even happier when they let me know how pleased they are with their purchases.

Keep your eyes on my auction and buy it now listings - we are adding lots of new inventory and it just might be what you are looking for or need.
A great big thank you to, my customers - you are the best!

Sterling Silver Medals with Gold

We have been adding more of the Mayors Medals by the Franklin Mint to our Ebay auctions.

They are one ounce of solid sterling silver with a coating of 24K gold.

They are beautifully designed with the largest cities in the US according to the 1970's records.

We do combine shipping for these coins.

The melt price of silver is a bit over $35 an ounce as of this post.

These medals are a great investment at this time - silver was almost $50 an ounce just a few months ago.

It is expected to go back up - so grab the deals now!

More Auctions

Ebay had a sale today.

Auction listings were only 1 cent.

For me, that is a major savings.

I have seen that many sellers have gone away from the original ebay auction concept.

Most listings on there are "buy it now" ones.

And if you have a store, they are much cheaper to list than an auction.

But, they don't get the exposure that auctions do either.

So, a good mix of the different options that ebay has to offer is what I try to do.

The posting was very slow today on the ebay site - I am sure it is due to the sale.

Hopefully it didn't affect the buyers - don't need them turning away because they can't bid.

We'll see how this batch goes when things end next week.

Lots of low prices - gotta catch the deals while they last!

Sterling Silver Mayors Medals

We have started listing a new collection of sterling silver on ebay.

This set was minted by the Franklin Mint in 1971 and it titled:

Official Mayors Medals of the United States Conference of Mayors.

There are 50 medals in this set that are made of solid sterling silver and electroplated with 24K gold.

Each one of these medals represents a city in the US that was one of the largest according to the 1970 census.

They are a rare set, and we are offering them one at a time.

Keep your eyes open for your favorite city - it just may have made the top 50 for this collection!

Calendar Medals Listed

We have listed the two sets of calendar medals that I talked about in my last post.

They are listed on ebay for seven days and each has a very reasonable reserve.

You can find the listing for the silver set here.

The listing for the bronze set is here.

Both of these sets are very rare, and to have two complete ones is even more rare.

Please email me with any questions, and good luck bidders!.

Calendar Zodiac Silver Medal

We have a most unique piece going up for auction next week.

It is a solid sterling silver round that is made by the Whittnauer Mint.

This large medal features the year 1973 in calendar form - six months on one side and the other six on the other side.

It also has each Zodiac sign for each month.

It is part of a set that includes 6 smaller sterling silver medals with "Winter" being the theme for them.

And as if this set wasn't special enough, we also have an identical one in bronze.

Two very rare sets that would make a great gift for an astrology collector as well as those who collect silver.

1975 Franklin Mint Bicentennial Medal

We have a beautiful piece of sterling silver up on auction this week.

It is a piece that was made by the Franklin Mint in 1975.

It is titled: Bicentennial Medal, and it features the faces of 30 Great Americans on the front of it.

The back has the beginning sentence of the Constitution of the United States.

This is a hefty piece of solid sterling silver - weighing 2000 grains, or 4.12 troy ounces.

Gilroy Roberts created this stunning piece, and the faces appear beautifully frosted against the mirrored background.

You can check out the listing, here.

It's a beauty and good luck to the bidders!

Franklin Mint Medals of the American Revolution

We just listed a beautiful set of Franklin Mint medals on Ebay this evening.

This set was minted in 1976 and there are 50 rounds that depict scenes from the American Revolution.

The title of the set is: The Medallic History of the American Revolution.

Each round is 32 mm and is made of solid Sterling Silver.

There are over 21 ounces of silver in this set.

Housed in a wood display case, this limited edition set is very rare - I haven't been able to locate another one like it.

The auction listing is here, and it will run for seven days.

There is a low reserve - pretty much at melt value as of this post.

Don't miss it - they are hard to come by and silver is a great investment!

Lowering Prices

We have begun to lower the prices in our ebay store.

The beginning prices on many of our auction are also going through some changes.

We are lowering many of the starting prices to $9.99.

The holiday season is coming, and we really want to move much of our merchandise.

What better way then to offer our customers some really good deals.

We will also be listing some different kinds of items in our store with in the next few weeks.

We have some hard to find vehicle parts from some older, long-gone cars that some people will be happy to see.

So keep your eyes open on our store - we might have just what you need!

Sterling Silver Indians

We are listing several more of the sterling silver American Indians this weekend.

They are beautiful collectibles that have been selling quite well these past couple of weeks.

Next week we will adding the really famous ones such as Sitting Bull and Pontiac.

Geronimo is my husband's favorite.

He was one tough man that went through much in his life.

I may save that one as a gift for him, I haven't decided yet.

Don't miss what we have online - this rare collection is almost gone.

Good luck!

Travel Overnight Shaving Cases

Some of our new inventory includes travel cases or kits for men.

These overnight cases store shaving and grooming items for travelling.

Some of them are leather, some are synthetic leather, and others are canvas.

We have been listing them on ebay and there are a couple of varieties in the store also.

The Dopp Kits are the most popular and are our best sellers.

They are made of leather and have a built-in frame that allows them to stand wide open when they are unzipped.

They make a great gift for any man.

Thanks to Our Customers

It has been a good week here at KML's Corner, and I just wanted to take a minute to thank our customers.

We will continue to add more inventory to the Ebay store for the coming holiday shopping season - hopefully you will find something you like or need.

We have started listing the sterling silver American Indian rounds again this week for the silver buyers and collectors alike.

Hope our customers enjoy their purchases, and once again, we thank you for your business.

It is appreciated!

Summer's End

Per the calendar, summer ends on the 23rd of this month.

But with the start of school and the cooler weather moving in, most in the US consider the Labor Day weekend the official end of summer.

And next comes the shopping season for the holidays.

And putting more listings in the store, both on the website, and ebay, is our goal these next couple of months.

Along with our listings of clothes, shoes, collectibles, and household items, we will be putting some silver rounds on too.

More of the American Indians collection will be listed also.

Hopefully we will have something for everyone - so keep your eyes peeled.

 Thanks for stopping by!

Hurricane and No Power

Just a quick post to let my customers know what's happening in this corner of the world.

We were hit with Hurricane Irene on Sunday.

We got through it fine, but it has been two days, and we have no electricity.

We run a small generator that powers only a couple of things at a time and the computer is not considered a necessity.

So, I do get on it - once in the morning and once in the evening.

We are trying our best to keep up with the orders - so far so good.

Please have patience if we do not answer your questions immediately.

We will get back to you.

Thanks for understanding and hopefully thing will be back to normal soon.

More Indians Next Week

Next weekend is a holiday in the US.

Labor day marks the end of the summer for us and the beginning of the school year for the kids.

Many families are making the most of this last long weekend of summer and are enjoying get-aways and visitors.

And the computer is the last thing on their minds for the most part.

Over the years I have found that online sales are really slow during these holiday weekends.

So we will not be posting any more of the sterling silver American Indian coins until next week so they end after the holiday.

We have a little over half of the set left.

Stay tuned!

American Indian Leaders Medallions

We have begun to list on Ebay a most interesting, quite rare collection of silver rounds.

The collection is called: American Indian Leaders Medallions.

It was minted by the Osborne Mint in 1979-1980.

There are 48 rounds that are made of Sterling Silver.

They are one ounce each.

They feature many of the famous Indian leaders from tribes across the US.

Only 5000 of these sets were produced.

We are listing them separately over the next few days, so if anyone is interested in the whole lot, they need to let me know so I can end the listings already on Ebay.

I would rather have kept them all together, but sadly they are valued more separately.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask - just leave a comment or go through the contact us link on the store website.

Check Outgoing Links

I posted on one of my other blogs a couple of weeks ago about checking the outgoing links on a website.

Well, I had taken care of all of my blogs, and the KML store website was next on the list.

Before I got to it, I was sent an email from a program I have monitoring the site for any suspicious behavior.

And wouldn't you know, there was malware.

Fearing my site had been attacked, panic set in.

Upon further investigation, I found it was an outgoing link to website I had on my link exchange page.

This link had been on my page for years, I certainly didn't expect that.

Someone hacked that site, and it was showing up bad on mine.

Well, we can't have that, so off it came,

Along with a few others that let their domains and websites expire.

It's a shorter list now, but it's clean.

And that is the important thing!

Readying for the Holiday Season

It seems a bit early to be thinking about the upcoming holiday season, after all, it is only August.

But when it comes to being online and selling merchandise, the earlier one begins to think about it, the better.

It takes time to get the items ready, photo them, and then actually get them on the website.

It takes time for the search engines to crawl the new listings.

So, by the end of summer, I usually have dived into the "season".

Not sure how things will be this year with the economy as it is, but good deals are always in demand.

And we offer quite a few of those!

Rare Mrs Albee Award Glasses

We ran across this set of 12 stemware a while ago, and I have searched the internet and have not been able to find anything like them, anywhere.

They are an Avon award given to their members who had outstanding sales in the early 1970's.

From what I can gather, there were only six sets given out for the different regions across the country.

They feature Mrs Albee, the first Avon lady, dressed in all her finery of the late 1800's.

She is etched into the glass - the same design is on both the small and large glasses.

They are still in the original box that they arrived in back in the 1970's.

We have them listed on Ebay, and you can find the listing here.

They are a fine set of collectibles, and if you know anything about them, I would love to hear from you!

Only a Caretaker

Collectibles - we do not own them.

We may think we do, but true antiques and collectibles have been in many other's possession many times before.

And the reason you are holding them today is the same reason you have them.

You love them and take good care of them.

So they can be passed to the next person who will do the same.

We are only caretakers, as the previous ones who came before us and the ones who will come after us are also.

I sometimes wonder if they could talk, I bet the stories we would hear would be something.

Enjoy them while they are with you, and pass them on knowing that you have done your best with them.

A Thought on Those Satin Sheets

Back in April, I made a post about trying out some satin sheets.

I was concerned about them being polyester, but I was thinking the coolness of them would feel pretty good in the summer.

They are so nice and cool when you first get into them.

But man, do they hold the heat when being covered by them.

Must be that polyester in them.

But their smooth coolness is really good.

Still happy to have them.

Happy 4th of July!

A quick post to wish my customers a most Happy 4th of July!

A nice long weekend for most of us - but we are still here, and will process all new orders bright and early Tuesday morning.

Stay safe in your travels.

Enjoy your celebrations.

And think of the souls out protecting us this day so we can still enjoy the freedoms that allow us to celebrate this holiday.

Happy Birthday, America!

O'Neill Water Ski Vest

We have an O'Neill  women's water ski vest that we listed on ebay a couple of days ago.

It has never been used, but it has been in storage for a few years.

We bought it to use ourselves, but we never were able to finish fixing the boat we were going to use it on.

We are in the process of downsizing, so I can't see holding on to it any longer.

It's a beautiful vest - the neoprene is so smooth against the skin - much better than the nylon ski jackets.

It will end on Friday evening - good luck bidders!

Monday, June 20, 2011

Brass Bell

 Brass with a wood handle.

This bell is the type that was used by school teachers many years ago.

Perfect for a nautical display.

They have the loudest ring - sure to get attention!

Different Sheets

Tommy
Hilfiger Full Size Flat Bed Sheet - Aqua

I have always been a stickler for cotton sheets.

Not cotton blend, mind you, just the 100% cotton ones.

Both the flannel and the jersey sheets have to be cotton too.

I love the breathablity, smoothness, and feel of the cotton fabric.

And they don't pill like the cotton blend ones do.

Well, we are trying something new come summertime.

We found some satin sheets on sale, and we are hoping that they will be cool feeling during the hot summer months.

I am a bit concerned about them though as they are made of 100% polyester.

And they are a much thinner, lightweight fabric.

Sounds like they should be perfect - can't wait to try them.

Silver Medals

The spot price for gold and silver has risen sharply over the last few months.

Last year at this time, the spot price for silver was $18 per ounce, two years ago it was $12.

As of Friday's close, the spot price for silver was $43 an ounce.

We acquired a partial set of the Masterpieces of Raphael that was minted by the Franklin Mint back in the late 1970's and early 1980's.

We only have two of these gold plated over silver metals left from this collection.

You can find them listed here.

Google Feed

We have always used the google feed for inserting our items in the froogle marketplace.

There haven't been any problems until lately when google informed me that there was an error with our URL.

After updating, verifying, and claiming the URL again, all is looking and working fine.

Hopefully it stays that way.

Now, on to the next step - figuring out how to get a sitemap of all the products and sending that along to google too.

These are steps that are recommended to webmasters by google to help with getting exposure for your site.

And they are free to use - can't go wrong with that!

Login-in Loop Fixed

There was a slight glitch with the log-in for customers over the past couple of days.

A customer was kind enough to drop me a note, and I was finally able to get it figured out.

It had to do with the site security and the wrong code being used.

Just one little thing can make things so difficult.

And finding the answer was time consuming, but we finally found the info we needed to fix it.

Doing our best to keep us and our customers safe.

Thanks for your patience and to our customer for the heads up!
